Celebrate Earth Day at SCC

EARTH DAY 2023 HAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO EXPECTED BAD WEATHER.

Southeastern Community College is partnering with Whiteville Rotary Club and the Museum of Natural Sciences at Whiteville to celebrate Earth Day 2023. 

The event will take place on Saturday, April 22, 2023 from 10am – 1pm. 

Activities will include a butterfly release, fossil dig, farm animals, science, agriculture, and much more. 

The day will also include a “Shred-It” portion of the event. Guests are welcome to bring personal documents to shred at no cost during the 10am-1pm event time. According to Shred-It“secure shredding and recycling process provides a secure chain of custody and helps you fulfill your environmental duty of care obligations, so you get the best of both worlds – environmental sustainability and privacy protection.” 

Vendors will be onsite. 

There will also be an art showcase of 1st  grader artwork from across Columbus County on display.
