Educational Talent Search Announces Summer Camps

Monday, May 10th, 2021

Southeastern Community College’s Educational Talent Search program will host four camps this summer. The camps will be offered on SCC campus and virtual. All camps are free to students. Enrollment is limited in all camps so students need to enroll early.

  • STEM Music Camp – July 26-29 from 9 a.m.–12 noon. 8th – 12 graders. The camp will be located on the SCC campus with hands-on activities that focus on songwriting, beat making, podcasting, creative writing, and more. Students will also learn about careers in the music industry, copyrights, audio editing, and have an opportunity to create their own beats.
    The deadline to register is Friday, July 16.
  • Camp Cardiac Care – July 12-15 from 8:45 a.m.–4 p.m. for rising 9th and 11th The camp will be located on SCC Campus. The camp is great for students interested in exploring a career in allied health. Camp Cardiac Care is filled with hands-on learning in nursing, medical lab technology, phlebotomy, nurse aide, EMT, CPR, and first-aid training.
    The deadline to register is Friday, July 2.
  • STEM Robotics Camp – June 15, 17, 22 and 24 from 10 a.m. – 12 noon. High school students. The camp is in a virtual/online format. The camp will introduce robotics, computer programming and beginner block coding. Students will perform activities with real robots. You can learn more about the course at nucleusrobotics.com.
    The deadline to register is Monday, June 7.
  • Science Camp – June 21 – 24 from 9 a.m. – 12 noon. Rising 7th and 8th The camp will be located on the SCC campus with hands-on activities that focus on biology, physics, chemistry, engineering, technology, and math. Each student will receive a kit with supplies to complete activities. The deadline to register is Monday, June 14.

A small stipend will be paid to students that complete the camps.
