New Partnership with UMO to Allow SCC Students Guaranteed Admissions

On Monday, August 16, Southeastern Community College (SCC) will sign a partnership agreement with the University of Mount Olive (UMO). The signing will take place at 2 p.m. in the Lobby of the Cartrette Building.

The University of Mount Olive Bridge program (UMO Promise) is a partnership between the UMO and SCC. In recognition of the quality Associate of Applied Science degree graduates of SCC, the UMO Promise partnership will enhance educational opportunities and facilitate a seamless transfer of graduates from the Agribusiness Technology at SCC to the University of Mount Olive bachelor’s degree programs. In partnership, UMO and SCC will enhance and expand the University of Mount Olive’s participation as a signatory institution in the North Carolina Community College System Independent Colleges and Universities Universal General Education Transfer Component Agreement (UGETC).

In its daytime programs, the University of Mount Olive offers over 50 different majors featuring small class sizes. Fields of study include agriculture, business, science, mathematics, criminal justice, English, psychology, education, the arts, recreation and leisure studies, criminal justice and criminology, religion, veterinary bioscience, aviation and business management pilot manned and unmanned, and many others.  Transformational experiences occur outside the classroom in student organizations, professional and collegiate clubs, performing groups, internships, and community service opportunities.  Students have the opportunity to compete on 22 highly-competitive NCAA Division II intercollegiate athletic teams in addition to various intramural sports

For adult students, UMO offers exceptional online degree programs that provide the convenience, flexibility, and affordability busy adults need.  As a result, the University has been ranked regionally and nationally for its programs and student service. Students can choose from a wide variety of degree options, including undergraduate and graduate degrees …all 100% online. Transfer-friendly options and a quick path to graduation are hallmarks of UMO’s adult education programs. Bachelor degree options include:  accounting, agribusiness,  bachelor of business administration, business management, agricultural communications and leadership, computer information systems, computer science, criminal justice and criminology, early childhood education, finance, healthcare management, human resource management, human services, leadership, marketing, psychology, RN to BSN, and religion..  Master’s degree options include:   master of business administration degree, master of business administration: healthcare management, master of education,  master of science in nursing, master of science in counseling: clinical mental health, and master of education:  educational leadership.
