SCC partners with UNCP for BraveStep program

Tuesday, November 6th, 2018

UNCP Chancellor Robin G. Cummings and SCC President Anthony J. Clarke recently signed a BraveStep agreement between the two institutions. BraveStep creates a pathway for prospective UNCP students to begin their college career at SCC and transfer to UNCP after completing 30 credit hours. Qualified applicants who are selected will be co-admitted to UNCP and SCC.

BraveStep students will enjoy the privileges of a UNCP student while attending SCC. They will have a UNCP student ID and access to all campus resources, programming and admission to athletic events and Givens Performing Arts Center events. They will also receive academic advising from both institutions to ensure a smooth transition.

Dr. Clarke pointed out that recent high school graduates can take advantage of the zero dollar tuition and fees SCC Success Scholarship for two years while at SCC and then the $500 tuition NC Promise program at UNCP, making a four-year college education substantially more affordable for all students.
