SCC representatives attend Phi Beta Lambda National Leadership Conference

Chapter Advisor Dr. Connie Porter and Incoming Chapter President Page Horne recently represented Southeastern Community College at the Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) National Leadership Conference in Atlanta Georgia. The conference drew thousands of future business leaders to compete in leadership events, share successes, and learn new ideas about shaping their careers through workshops and exhibits.

Horne presented a workshop called You Won’t Believe What Happened To Me! This workshop focused on helping students overcome their fear of public speaking while utilizing leadership skills. She also attended and completed the Professional Leadership Workshops.

Dr. Porter served as an Administrator for the leadership competitive events. In addition, she attended the following leadership workshops: Becoming the Millennial Leader, Connection & Cause Marketing, Cross Cultural Communications, Your Best You!, Why Entrepreneurs Fail and L.E.A.D.: Be the Leader You Want to Follow

.Horne and Dr. Porter also received certificates for representing SCC and NCPBL at the National Leadership Conference.

Horne will serve as this year’s newly appointed NCPBL Eastern Region Vice President.

Future Business Leaders of America–‐Phi Beta Lambda Inc. is a non–‐profit 501(c)(3) education association with a quarter million members and advisers in 12,000 chartered middle school, high school, and college chapters worldwide. Its mission is to bring business and education together in a positive working relationship through innovative leadership and career development programs.
