SCC partners with UNCW on Pathway to Excellence

Wednesday, March 27th, 2019

UNCW Chancellor Jose V. Sartarelli recently visited SCC President Anthony J. Clarke to sign the Pathway to Excellence agreement between the two institutions. With the Pathway to Excellence, students at SCC who complete an Associate of Arts (AA) or Associate of Science (AS) with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher will be guaranteed admission to UNCW.

In his comments, Dr. Sartarelli shared that transfer students are a vital part of the student population at UNCW and he would welcome an increase in transfer students from SCC. In addition, he pointed out that there is $350,000 in scholarships available specifically for transfer students.

“We are excited to sign a guaranteed admission agreement with UNCW,” said Dr. Clarke. “Increasing transfer opportunities for our students who complete their Associate in Arts and Associate in Science degrees at SCC is beneficial for our students and Columbus County.”
